Director: Henry Selick

Henry SelickHenry Selick works almost exclusively in stop motion animation, and his films are by far the most successful of the genre. He studied experimental animation at the California Institue of the Arts while working as an animator for Disney.

Having collaborated with both Tim Burton and Neil Gaiman, his films often take an approachable look at dark subject matter. This makes them unique in their ability to return heavier themes to children’s stories. In 2010 Selick signed on with Pixar to produce stop motion animation films, and rekindled many of the working relationships he had back at Disney.
