He is one of the few members of the Splat Pack to rival the on-screen violence seen in the films of directors Alexandre Aja and Rob Zombie.

Roth has gained a reputation for making films that are hard to ignore. His movies have attracted very public attention by even those outside film journalism. While these films might go without controversy in the horror community, his commercial success has pushed his work into the spot light of numerous “think of the children!” news debates.
