Director: David Lynch

David LynchDavid Keith Lynch is best known for his surreal style of filmmaking. It’s dark, foreboding, perverse, and most of all distinctive. Through the use of heavy imagery and sound as well as a variety of iconic scenes, his movies often stick with the viewer long after they’re over.

Lynch rarely uses a direct narrative, frequently choosing mood as a substitue for exposition. This accounts for a sense of mystery and haunting that is rarely experienced anywhere else. From television to film, it’s hard to find a more distinctive style than that of David Lynch.
