Director: Alex Proyas
Alexander Proyas is a Greek Australian film director, screenwriter, and producer He got his start in the 80s directing music videos straight out of film school. With over a hundred music videos to his name, it may come as a surprise that he’s best known for directing a small handful of science fiction films.
Proyas employs a dark and stylized way of filming, usually in a post-apocalyptic setting. His early films have an especially heavy mythologies that are well matched with their comic book appearances. Throughout his career, his films have acquired a cult following partially due to the unique worlds they take place in.
